Our People

A successful lifestyle community must have more than just buildings. Driving it should be a foundation of experience and understanding. The organisation behind The Pacific Coast Village is Retirement Assets Ltd, a soundly backed company with 14 years experience in the creation and operation of successful retirement communities. Current developments include The Russley Village at Christchurch, Ranfurly Village Auckland, and the Pacific Coast Village.

Peter Cross - CEO of Retirement Assets Limited
Peter has unrivalled development experience including the retirement village industry. After working in a family retail business, followed by various management positions with Woolworths, Peter joined Fletcher Development for a variety of roles throughout New Zealand. He was headhunted across the Tasman to a joint venture between Challenge Properties and Lend Lease which saw him responsible for the development of various shopping centres throughout Australia. Eventually returning home in 1984, Peter was responsible for the development of the first commercial retirement villages in New Zealand, Hibiscus Coast and Hillsborough Heights. After senior project roles with both McConnell Dowell and the Auckland City Council, Peter accepted the position of Managing Director, Primecare NZ Limited. Under his stewardship, Primecare became New Zealand’s preeminent owner and operator of upscale retirement villages with four villages in Auckland and one in the Bay of Plenty. Peter started with Retirement Assets in 2005 after an approach by Graham Wilkinson who had purchased the Primecare portfolio.

Graham Wilkinson - Director of Retirement Assets Limited
Graham was brought up in Central Otago leading to seven years as a Police Constable in Dunedin during which time he completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree and eventually a Master of Business Administration. After developing and acquiring a variety of hotels, subdivision and apartments throughout New Zealand, in 1994 Graham purchased an Auckland retirement village. At the time of purchase the development had 78 units and after his stewardship now comprises 228 units. In 2005, Graham and an associate purchased four villages owned by Primecare NZ.
Graham is the longest serving member of the Retirement Villages Association of New Zealand having been involved for over a decade.

Mike Flattery - Manager of Pacific Coast Village
Mike retired as an Officer in the NZ Army in 1989. Mike’s tours of duty included attachments to NATO in the UK and Germany, Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji and the Cook Islands. In 1981 Mike was awarded an MBE for his service in Rhodesia. Since leaving the Army Mike has held managements appointments at Massey University (both in Palmerston North and Albany Campus), CEO Manawatu Rugby and EO Orewa College. Mike joined the retirement industry in 1999 and was appointed Manager of Ocean Shores Village for eight years before being appointed Operations Manager with Renaissance Lifecare in London. Mike has been appointed Manager of Pacific Coast Village and is committed to the well being of the residents who will reside at Pacific Coast Village.

Judy Bailey
Judy Bailey is also pleased to be involved in marketing of the village. Judy’s parents were one of the first residents in an Auckland village managed and later owned by Retirement Assets and their current executives. Judy saw firsthand the peace of mind that retirement village living gave her parents. She also knew the Russley Hotel from her journalist training days in Christchurch and is thrilled to be able to help promote the village.
